Adding to its already impressive list of new titles coming in 2024, Mad Cave Studios has announced another new comic.
Releasing in May, writer Ray Fawkes (Black Hammer ’45, Purgatori, In the Flood, Batman: Eternal) teams up with artist Antonio Fuso (House of Slaughter, Wyrd), as well as colourist Emilio Lecce and letterer Dave Sharpe, team up to bring us the comic Sanction.
Described as a ‘noir thriller’ that deals with the central question of ‘does truth have a price?’, Sanction follows two cops who stumble into a world of terrible deeds and even more terrible lies as they try and investigate what they believe to be a cut-and-dry murder case.
Mad Cave have provided the following synopsis for the comics in their press release:
‘Leningrad, 1987. When a woman’s corpse is discovered on New Year’s Day, a hungover Detective Pavel Smirnoff hands off the case to his partner, Detective Boris Dimitrovich, hoping he’ll close it without fuss. Instead, Dimitrovich uncovers a connection to an old, unsolved crime, dragging them both into an investigation that puts their careers – and possibly their lives – at risk.’

The new comic book series launches its first issue on 15th May 2024, via both physical and digital releases.
